WE will explore
Calling all travellers!
There is one thing I have learnt from this pandemic; and that is, never second guess, take every chance, every opportunity and tick off every dream destination. As for travellers and world citizens exploring the globe, learning and being immersed in new culture and environments is what keeps our blood warm. The moment we had planned to explore the Galapagos Islands, that yearning for adventure and that anxious, excited feeling and thrill of visiting a new destination kicked in. What an extraordinary place it was.
Now, our friends and colleagues from around the world are already on their way to the Galapagos while we sit and wait here in Australia. I know there is only one way to deal with this urge and that is to book myself an adventure, plan for that trip of a lifetime and look forward to exploring this extraordinary destination. I will be there in 2022 and as many of our travellers tell us – “we will be travelling hell or high water”. And there is no better destination to add to our bucket list than the extraordinary Galapagos Islands. Pristine environment, an abundance of wildlife, new cultures, expert expedition teams, comfort of our refurbished Hurtigruten ship, MS Santa Cruz II and a plethora of opportunities to participate in our citizen science and learning programs in the new onboard Science Center. There is an abundance of activities and a real opportunity to put all the challenges of the last year behind us and focus on the future.
I read these stories and watch the videos and I feel like that kid again – off on my first overseas trip with an abundance of curiosity and a lot to learn.
I’m with you travellers – I will be in the Galapagos Islands in 2022 come hell or high water and I hope you can join me too.
Read on friends, be inspired and put those travelling shoes on. There's adventures to be had once more.

Have you heard of multe?
The amber-colored fruit resembles raspberries and blackberries. Bringing flavour to Norwegian desserts, the cloudberry – known as multe in Norwegian – is notoriously hard to find.
